Cat Home Alone Calculator
How long can your cat stay home alone? Check a conservative estimate based on age, health, medication and supplies.
Probably fine, with the right setup
For an adult cat (1–10 years), 12 hours is within our conservative guideline of about 24 hours. Leave enough food, fresh water, a clean litter box, and make sure someone knows your cat is home.
Even a short trip can turn long if something happens to you on the way. The question isn't only "how long", it's "who would know my cat is waiting?"
This is general guidance, not veterinary advice
We're pet owners, not veterinarians. This tool gives a cautious, general recommendation only. Every pet is different, so always ask your own vet what's right for yours, and contact a vet right away if you're worried.
